Episode 59 | David Roberts Black

1a262a_7cf926dfb48145f8a47833cf122aa864David Roberts Black (aka D-Black) is an off-Broadway theatre,  screen actor and spoken-word artist. Besides being a finalist in the 2013 ABFF Star Project Competition (www.abff.com). He has been successful in a group of independent films such as “OUT OF MY HAND ”  distributed by Ava Duvernay’s company, ARRAY, (www.outofmyhand.com) available on Netflix and winner of the Best U.S. Fiction Award at the 2015 Los Angeles Film Festival (LAFF) and was nominated for a 2016 Independent Spirit Award. The second most recent, FOR OUR SINS, is an Official 2016 Cannes Film Festival Selection. He had a great stand-out performance in his very own self-written one-man show entitled “The D-Black Experience” at The Actor’s Fund Art Center. His spoken-word piece, “I Apologize” has recently gone viral with millions of views and is still increasing. David can currently be seen in the off-Broadway production of Layon Gray’s Black Angels Over Tuskegee.
